About Me

My Story

Horses have been my obsession ever since I was seven years old. In what was probably a well meaning attempt to cool my enthusiasm, my parents booked me into a weekend pony camp -but instead of putting me off, mucking out, grooming, and riding only fueled the fire. That passion never faded. I went from a starry-eyed pony-mad kid to a dedicated rider, eventually finding my stride as a coach and dressage enthusiast.

While I always had a knack for improving a horse’s way of going, my early love was for eventing and showjumping. After outgrowing my 13.2hh pony, I dove headfirst into the sport with a 17.2hh warmblood. Dressage, at the time, was just a way to refine our flatwork. But life had other plans. A serious back injury during the backing of a young horse forced me into a long recovery and time at home with my young son. That pause, though challenging, brought clarity. Dressage wasn’t just a training tool - it was where my heart truly belonged.

And from that moment on, I committed fully to the discipline that had quietly been calling me all along...

My Philosophy

I’m deeply passionate about coaching, and I believe this shines through in every session

Empowered Riders

My coaching goes beyond instructions -it's about helping riders truly understand the why behind each movement. I break down concepts in a clear, relatable way so riders feel confident, capable, and empowered to ride independently, both in and out of the arena.

Light bulb Moments

There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing something click for a rider—whether it’s a better feel, sharper balance, or a more effective aid. I focus on problem-solving and use simple analogies to make complex ideas intuitive and easy to apply. It’s about progress that sticks, not quick fixes.

Horse-First, Holistic Training

A happy, healthy horse is at the core of any successful partnership. I take a holistic approach that values physical and mental well-being, encouraging the “Three F’s”: Friends, Forage, and Freedom. When horses feel good, they learn better, trust more, and perform with confidence.

Effective, Sympathetic Riding

Clear, kind communication between horse and rider is key. I help riders develop aids that are precise yet soft, building a language of trust and clarity. Each session is tailored to create calm, responsive horses and confident riders who can grow together as a team.
